Galicia is an autonomous community in northwest Spain, with the official status of a nationality. It comprises the provinces of A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra, being bordered by Portugal to the south, the Spanish autonomous communities of Castile and León and Asturias to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, and the Bay of Biscay to the north. It has a population in 2012 of 2,778,913, and has a total area of 29,574 sq.km. Galicia has over 1,660 km. of coastline, including its offshore islands and islets.

The sea Galicia has also defined this singular landscape, with a wider range of stunning coastline offering great biodiversity which include wide sweeping Beaches  with fine white sand.

The Cíes Islands are an archipelago off the coast of Pontevedra in Galicia (Spain). The Cíes consist of three islands, Monteagudo ("Sharp Mount" or North Island), do Faro ("Lighthouse Island", or Isla do Medio, "Middle Island") and San Martiño ("Saint Martin" or South Island). According to a British Journal ' The Guardian' the beach of Rodas, on the island of Monteagudo, as "The best Beach in the World. Also see another panorama of Sea-Galicia.
